Co-ops are often ahead of competitors when it comes to sustainability. While sustainability is often thought of as the “right thing to do,” it can also be the profitable thing to do. Every dollar that isn’t spent on wasted energy or materials can be used to increase reserves, add services for members and shoppers, or give back to the community. NCG is developing tools and resources to help co-ops leverage sustainability as a competitive advantage and position co-ops as leaders in sustainability in the grocery industry.
